Skinworks Clinic Treatment

Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning gently removes dead skin cells and fine facial hair, often called peach fuzz. It can help dry, dull or uneven skin feel smoother and allows makeup to sit more evenly.

Dermaplaning Treatment Options

Dermaplaning can be booked as a standalone exfoliating treatment or added to a facial. Both options remove dead surface skin and fine facial hair. The difference is whether you want dermaplaning on its own or as part of a longer facial appointment.

Full Face Dermaplaning

$155.00

45 minutes

A focused treatment for removing dead skin cells and peach fuzz from the face. Choose this option if you want smoother skin and more even texture without booking a full facial.

Dermaplaning facial add-on

$125.00

45 minutes

Add dermaplaning to your chosen facial so the exfoliation and facial hair removal are completed as part of the same appointment. The rest of the treatment will follow the facial you have booked.

How does Dermaplaning work?

Your skin is first cleansed and dried. A sterile blade is then held at an angle and moved across the face using short, controlled strokes. This gently removes the outer build-up of dead skin cells and fine vellus hair from the skin’s surface.

Removing this surface layer can make rough or dry areas feel smoother and creates a more even base for skincare and makeup. The treatment is controlled by hand so areas around the natural curves of the face can be treated carefully.

Dermaplaning FAQs

Not sure whether dermaplaning suits your skin? Sangita can check your current skin condition and advise whether it’s suitable on its own or as part of a facial.

No. Dermaplaning doesn’t change the thickness, colour or growth rate of your hair. The hair may feel slightly different as it first grows back because it has been cut at the surface, but its natural texture has not changed.

The smooth feeling is temporary because dead skin cells build up again and fine facial hair continues its normal growth cycle. The timing of another treatment will depend on how quickly your hair grows and how your skin responds.

Dermaplaning shouldn’t be painful. Most people feel a light scraping or brushing sensation as the blade moves across the skin.

Sensitive skin may still be treated if it is calm on the day. Dermaplaning should be avoided over active or inflamed acne, open skin, cold sores, rashes, or a flare-up of eczema or dermatitis.

While dermaplaning can make the skin surface look and feel smoother, which may make very shallow marks appear less noticeable, it won’t treat deep, pitted or raised acne scars, where another treatment such as Dermapen 4 Microneedling may be more suitable.

Keep your skincare gentle while the skin settles. Avoid makeup, heavy exercise, hot showers, saunas and excess heat for the first 12 to 24 hours. Pause retinol, scrubs and exfoliating acids for the time advised, and wear SPF 30 or higher each day.

A facial razor can remove fine hair, but it doesn’t provide the same controlled exfoliation as professional Dermaplaning. Using a blade incorrectly can cause cuts, irritation or infection.
